Chrono Therapeutics, Inc. has created a transdermal medication delivery device that actively controls the level of medication in pre-defined, scheduled, periodic, doses. The first applications are focused on patients battling addictions or living with neurological disorders. The device is intended to be worn 24/7, in a number of locations on the body. Anvil Studios, Inc partnered with Chrono Therapeutics to design their drug delivery device which includes a reusable control unit and a disposable cartridge integrated onto a wearable patch.
Our objective was to create low-profile and comfortable shapes that incorporated finger grip features for inserting and removing the control unit from the disposable cartridge. Together with Chrono Therapeutics, Anvil designed several concepts for user testing and validation. To reduce the overall mass and provide functional touch points, the final design intent blends smooth contours and sculpted surfaces with crisp, fluid edges. The result is a sleek and comfortable form that is intuitive and easy to use.
